EA gets the picture, at least a little

EA has seen the error of its ways after much protest and from what I've heard a cleansing of their forums which did little to silence the voice of those who hate their new aggressive anti-piracy measures. They have take most of the perks of the game and made them only available to those who bought the game as long as they register their copy with EA. They have also raised the amount of installs in an attempt to reward those who bought it. The company has publicly accepted the argument that one pirated copy of their game does not equal a sale of their game. In this day and age if someone wants to pirate you game it will most likely happen. What companies need to do is follow EA's suit and make owning a legitamate copy of the game more rewarding than stealing it. Your customer base that is actually going to buy the game gets the benefits while those who pirate the game still get their copy but a lesser product than those who paid for it. This might even convince those who pirate the game to eventaully spring for the if they liked it. I applaud EA for at least meeting gamers half way on this issue, its not perfect but i think its more than most companies would do
